At last, we are nearing the end of our first Winter in Perth. It was way colder than I expected! I was 100% in hibernation (me at my most unproductive!). Did you miss me? Facebook and Instagram tried unsuccessfully to get me out the cave. Little did they know that I am all Bear in Winter.
I stayed indoors (mostly). Reread Jane Eyre (my fav!) and binged on chick-lit & Stan ( a bit too much of Flash & Being Erica). Drank Milo and dipped biscuits – my winter fashion statement. Somehow my fat cells froze to death and by the generosity of the Winter Gods, I came out slimmer. Credit must also be awarded to my increasingly energetic son that has me running in circles!!!
Whilst I shirked on all fronts, I gave myself the time off (because I can…) and was at peace with it. Sometimes it does the soul a world of good to rest (my logic and my make-me-feel good reasoning).
On the plus side, I made some lovely new friends and Kai’s schedule increased tenfold! I have also been writing a lot (short stories/fiction – nothing share-worthy) – just for the love of it!
You may have heard about the solar eclipse in North America and if you are into the woo-woo like me then you would have also been preparing yourself for the changes that this brings spiritually. I used the cave time to increase my meditation and other spiritual practices (God journaling and Energy shifting). This had me flipping between down days and blissful days… It was all worth it – the clearing of old energies and downloading of the new is my reward. Now I feel so much lighter, vibrant and energetic.
The whiff of Spring had me bouncing into new ventures. By the beginning of August after the house Spring clean (ahead of schedule), I started my life coaching journey (new career move as per my awesome Vision Board). I can happily say that once again the Gods have been good to me. But I’ll tell you more about that in my next post.
“The lamps are different, but the Light is the same. One matter, one energy, one Light, one Light-mind, endlessly emanating all things.” — Rumi
In Australia, there is also change looming and hopefully, the decision will be from a space of love. Starting in September, Australians will be asked to vote on whether or not they believe same-sex couples should be allowed to marry.
I believe that wherever we come from. Whatever our background, customs, religion, sexual orientation, skin color – we are all lights – just contained in different lamps – in the eyes of God. People are magnificent and beautiful irrespective of on-the-surface differences. Intolerance and hate can never be justified by God-consciousness.
On that note, choose light and choose love always,
